Vũ Hoàng Hoa is the grandchild of late writer and literary researcher Vũ Ngọc Phan. She has written novels and her current script Shadow of the Puppets has been performed by Việt Nam Drama Theatre. The script was officially nominated for the 2023 Patrick White Award for scripts organised annually by Sydney Theatre and it was longlisted for the most exciting plays in the Griffin Theatre New Script Awards.
